Promotion celebration

CHAMPIONS OF THE NPOWER CHAMPIONSHIP
Sometimes everything goes in order and make you proud of your work. This was the case at Leicester City where the team surprised everybody and won the Championship. It was incredible how the players managed to maintain their form, because let's be honest who thought we can achieve such a remarkable campaign.

As you can see it was a long and hard season, but the team sealed some fantastic results. The main highlights were the matches again Wigan 2-0, Leeds 3-2 or Nottm Forest 4-0.

Not only the promotion but also the manner that it was realised gave me a huge satisfaction. 12 points over Wolverhampton, 16 points more that 3rd placed Brighton and 24 points above 7th placed Palace.

TOP 3 MATCHES OF THE SEASON
  • LEICESTER CITY - BLACKBURN ROVERS 4-0 (23' King, Fetfatzidis 38' 87'p., Nugent 55')
  • FUN FACT : this result was registered a couple days after the shocking defeat against Wolves 0-8.

SQUAD AND FINANCIAL EFFORTS

In the winter transfer period we managed to make some big efforts and sign three players that were already with us on loan : Marco Torsiglieri (DC), Maxime Lestienne (AML) and Giannis Feftatzidis (AMR)

  • MARCO TORSIGLIERI
Marco joined the Foxes in the summer of 2012 from Metalist on loan and after some brilliant performances convinced everybody at King Power Stadium to bid 2.000.000 euros and sign him in the winter transfer period.

Marco was the best central defender this season with an average rating of 7.53 and of course, one of the main reasons Leicester won the title. Thanks Marco and we hope that you'll maintain this performances in the  Premier League as well.

  • MAXIME LESTIENNE
Same case for the player from Belgium Maxime Lestienne who arrived at Leicester City first on loan from Clubbe Brugge. In the winter transfer period the Foxes made a bid of 2.200.000 euro and signed the player.
Maxime proved to be one of the best players in the squad. He was faultless in the left winger position were he supplied the strikers with more that useful passes.

  • GIANNIS FETFATZIDIS

And below we have all the transfers that we made this season at King Power Stadium:

UNTOUCHABLE SEAT
As expected the board is jubilant after the run we had this season, also I am happy with the squad harmony the club has.

FINANCES - INSECURE
From the financial point of view I have some concerns. The balance is as low as it can get and I'm afraid that will effect next seasons budgets.

Foxes - Mid season update

UP HIGH IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP
The good start in the league was followed by an even better streak with 11 wins in 17 matches. Things would have been even if we didn't lost points with teams like Sheffield Wednesday, Huddersfield and Derby County.

Things in the league are unbelievable at the moment, we are first with 8 points above second place Wolves, 9 points more that third placed Burnley and 16 points above Crystal Palace (7th place , out of the play-off spot).

Yes, we can score. At the moment we have the best attacking crew in the league with 58 goals, 2.14 goals per game, with David Nugent (16 goals) and Giannins Fetfatzidis (9 goals) on display.

VERY SECURE SITUATION
The outstanding performances in the league are not unnoticed by the board, who only expected a respectable league position at the end of the season. To summarise it all , everybody is happy and my job is very secure at the moment.

THE SQUAD
Talking about the squad depth, I have some important thing to improve:
  • First of all my wingbacks are not covered. All season we played DL with Ilunga (6.96) and Konchersky (6.58)
  • The DC's in the squad are not as good as Marco Torsiglieri, so in case of an dramatic injury, things would get tough

Still in the squad department we have to sell some players in order to set a more secure financial position. Konchersky, St. Ledger, Futacs, Vardy are some player (with big wages) that must depart as soon as possible from King Power Stadium.

5 STAR FOXES

DAVID NUGGENT

GIANNIS FETFATZIDIS

MARCO TORSIGLIERI

MATCH OF THE SEASON (PART ONE)
Leicester City - Leeds United 5-1

FINANCIAL HEADACHE
As you can notice we are in some kind of trouble with the finances. The main problem seems to be the current team payroll and the inability to sell high wage unwanted players like Konchersky or St. Ledged.

Leicester City

TEAM BACKGROUND
Welcome back to the greatest job on Earth ! In my first career I will start with Leicester City in my attempt to bring glory to the club.

CHAMPIONSHIP AND LEAGUE CUP
Well, the minimum expectations this year in the league are finishing in a respectable position, from my point of view that's between 5th-8th position. With a media prediction of 7th and a club filled with high wages and bight depths, this is going to be quite a challenge.
As you can see the team is all over the place from the scoring aspect. This has to change in order to progress to the next level. It is essential to have a striker on which you can rely on that he scores frequently.
So, as you might expect after seeing the league results, The Foxes are high up in the table. Unbeaten in ten games we find ourselves in 2nd position in a promotion place.
In the Capital One Cup we managed to achieve our season expectation and nothing more. We might say now that things might have went a little bit different if we wanted. But that's all for this year.

SQUAD DEPTH
Here we have a closer look at the squad. The depth in the team is more that enough for the first part of the season, until the transfer window.
The main thing that worries me at the moment is the amount of payroll that the club has. Just looking at the squad you can easily notice 1mil.+ salaries. In the winter transfer period we will have to let go to some high wage player in order to avoid a financial crisis.
It is "in-human" to have a current player wage total of 19.7 mil. in the Championship, a competition that doesn't generate the amount of money like the EPL.

TRANSFERS AND MARCO TORSIGLIERI
Now let's have some fun and talk about another happy aspect at the club, and that is the signing on loan of Marco Torsiglieri from Metalist. At the moment he is one of the best player in the league with an average rating of 7.49.

The only thing I hope in this moment is that the financial status of the club will stay above the line , in order to permanently sign most player that are on loan at the club. I have big plans, not only for Marco, but for Lestienne, Fetfatzidis and Mahaya.

NEXT UP FOR THE FOXES
It looks easier from now on and we hope to maintain our good streak.
Best regards until next time!
