Championship Promotion & FA Cup Final

Ok, here are the results of the Eagles matches until the famous Boxing Day. The most important of them were the one against our arch rivals Brighton and Millwall. Against Brighton we won 1-0 at Selhurst Park with the goal of Antonio Pedroza, while against Millwall we managed to pull off a 2-0 victory away at The Den (goals scored by Ambrose and Pedroza).

After the Boxing Day, began a fantastic run for the Eagles both in the npower Championship and the FA Cup. First of all, the two derby matches. 1-0 away at Brighton at the American Express Co. thanks to an unfortunate goal by Gordon Greer and a brilliant 4-2 home victory at Selhurst Park (a hattrick scored by Stefan Strandberg and Julian Schieber).

And finally here are the results from the FA Cup that led to our place in the final at Wembley.
3rd round match vs. Bolton, 2-1 at Selhurst Park;
4th round match vs. Bristol Rovers 6-0, away at the Memorial Stadium;
5th round match vs. Tottenham 1-0 thanks to a final minute penalty goal scored by Jonas Svensson;
1/4 finals vs. West Ham at the Boleyn Ground, 1-1 draw;
1/4 finals (replay) vs. West Ham at home, 4-2 win;
1/2 finals vs. Wigan at Wembley. A dramatic match that ended 2-2 after 90 minutes, with a superb win on penalties;
So, here are the transfers made by the Eagles in our first season, in the npower Championship. In the summer transfer period, the important signings were the two players from Norway, Stefan Strandber (DC, 500.000 euros from Valerenga) and Jonas Svensson (MC, 1.300.000 euros from Rosenborg), from Bulgaria - Stefan Velev (MC, 300.000 euros from Beroe) and Georgi Terziev (DC, 250.000 euros from Chernomorets).

In form Palace managed to sign in the winter transfer period another four players who proved in the end essential for winning the promotion, Julian Schieber, James McArthur, Joe Lewis and Nicolas Isimat-Mirin.
Talking about the players that left the club this years, we have a totally different situation. The only notable transfers were the ones of Paddy McCarthy to Soton for 975.000 euros and Lomana LuaLua to Norwich (1.000.000 euros), who arrived at Palace in the summer, but had a rough 6 months being injured most of the time.
